Machine Shop Manager

Are you an experienced machinist with strong manual machining experience? Would you like to play a key role at a thriving business?

This well-established company is a specialist manufacturer of mechanical equipment, supplying to clients UK wide. They have gone from strength to strength in recent years with a number of acquisitions. Due to ongoing success and expansion, they are now looking for a Machine Shop Manager to join their expert team.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the machine shop, managing a team of machinists and ensuring production targets, quality standards and deadlines are met. You will also use your strong technical knowledge of manual machining to support the team and ensure efficient workshop operations.

This role would therefore suit an experienced manual machinist looking for a new challenge and the chance to progress their career within a rapidly expanding business.

The Role:

• Manage the day-to-day running of the machine shop
• Lead and support a team of machinists
• Oversee manual machining and production
• Ensure quality, efficiency and production targets are met
• £40,000 - £50,000 + Days Based + 32 Days Holiday + Benefits

The Person:

• Strong background in manual machining
• Experience within a machine shop environment
• Previous leadership or management experience
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and machining processes
• Commutable to Sheffield
